🎛️BeatGlow
Support & help
BeatGlow is a neon drum machine for iPhone and iPad. Tap out beats on a 7-track, 32-step grid, then shape the sounds themselves — every kick, snare, hat and FX hit is synthesized on the fly, so there are no samples to load. Add swing, accent individual hits, chain patterns into songs, and export your beat as audio or a shareable video.
Requirements
- iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17 or later.
- No account, no sign-in, no subscription.
- An internet connection only if you use Generate with AI. Everything else — sequencing, sound design, songs, and exporting — works fully offline.
Frequently asked
Where are my beats saved? On your device, automatically, as you work. Patterns survive app updates. Use the patterns sheet (the jar icon) to name, duplicate, or delete them.
How do I make a hit louder? Long-press a pad to accent it — accented hits play at full volume, everything else is softened slightly. That's what gives a pattern its groove.
What does swing do? In the mixer, swing delays every other 16th note, from straight (50%) to a heavy triplet feel (75%). Small amounts go a long way.
Can I change how a drum sounds? Yes — that's the dial icon in the mixer. Pitch, decay, and tone reshape the actual waveform for that track, because the sounds are generated rather than sampled. Preview as you go, and Reset returns the original.
How do I build a song? Open the patterns sheet and tap the song icon. Add sections, set how many times each repeats, and drag to reorder. Playback runs the arrangement gaplessly.
How do I share a beat? The share icon in the transport bar
exports audio (WAV) or a vertical video with an animated visualizer — good for
social. You can also export a pattern file (.funbeats) or your whole
library (.funbeatspack) and send it to someone else running BeatGlow;
opening the file imports it.
Generate with AI isn't working. It needs an internet connection, and it's rate-limited to keep it free for everyone — if you've made a burst of beats, wait a few minutes. No API key or setup is required on your end.
The sound stopped after a phone call. Press play again; the audio engine re-starts itself after an interruption. If it persists, force-quit and relaunch — your patterns are already saved.
